A New Japanese Blog

in Japan

That’s right, I’ve finally relaunched my Japanese blog, this time in a less official fashion. Last time I used a Japanese installation of WordPress together with an old theme that I translated. But now I want to save me the trouble of doing that, I just want to write with as little back-end work as possible. So I decided to start a Tumblr blog, since you can connect those with your own domain.

The content of my Japanese blog is completely different, it’s a more personal blog where I talk about my day and other boring stuff. It’s just there so I can practice writing Japanese, and I’m sure it’s overflowing with grammatical errors already^^

I try to write there once a day after my two daily study sessions at Smart.fm. Posts are usually published around 6-10 PM CET. So if you want to follow me there too (who’d want to do that?), you’re free to do so at ja.yonasu.com.

You can also correct my posts if you want to, but I have no intentions of actually correcting the posts (I will take notes though), as it’ll be cool to go back to old posts later on and see how much (or little) I’ve improved!

Do you have a Japanese blog?

Nope, but I’ve been thinking about making one ever since you showed me this one or two days ago! I probably won’t right now, though, but it might happen sooner than you think. Or not quite as soon. :P

Looking good man! I’ll be sure to remember Tumblr in the future if I ever decide to do something like this as well. I still gotta finish the revamp of my main blog.

In the meantime, I’ll be sure to check this out. It’s definitely a good way to practice.

I made an account in Ameblo some time ago and open a blog but never wrote anything.
I think in your tumbr the white background should be behid the text but in my PC there’s only hard to read text over a pirameki background =S

I have an Ameblo blog too actually, considered going with Ameblo before Tumblr actually, but setting things up is easier with Tumblr.

And hmm, that’s weird. Are you using Internet Explorer?

Xacur February 19, 2010 at 2:08 am

I use Ubuntu so I don’t have internet explorer, I use Firefox.
But I checked in windows in my brother’s PC and IE worked but FF don’t, so maybe it’s just firefox.
The white background appears when the page start loading but it disappears when it lead completely. Only the first (the last) post has white background.

Haha that’s weird! I use Firefox too, no problems here. Well, hopefully it’ll work for you in the coming posts…

I should have done this along time ago!
I have some entries in my personal blog, in facebook and in Lang-8. But not really a blog site that consolidates all my japanese posts.

I suggest that you cross post things in Lang-8. And I guess you will feel right at home there.

for more info in lang-8. you can see this review

Thanks :) I know about Lang-8 and I’ll probably give it another go sometime. Thing is I don’t have time to correct other people’s texts which is very selfish^^;

But me likes it! Btw, hows the weather up there north, heard it was absurdly cold.
