What I have is never enough for me it seems, it has only been 2 months since I last switched to a new theme and here we go again. And of course I’m going to try and explain why I’ve done this right now.

yonasu.com

The previous design was pretty popular and I liked it a lot as well, however, there were some issues with it. Ginza (the name of the previous design) doesn’t support IE7 which unfortunately is the most used browser among IE users on my blog. 23% of my readers use IE, and out of those 23% IE7 is the most used browser. And a blog design that doesn’t have support for a browser with that many users just isn’t good, it’s very hard to convert someone to a loyal reader if he/she can’t read the blog.

The second issue has to do with both the design and myself. That issue is that I want to be able to use two different layouts, one that has a small content column for shorter posts that don’t have high quality images, and one with a wide content image for photo posts. While this could be done with the previous theme, it was not an easy nut to crack in comparison with this theme.

So what is this theme? This is Thesis, a premium theme that I bought for another site a while ago. I’m not going to go into the details of Thesis but I’ll just say this, it rocks! More information about Thesis here. I will be tweaking this theme more in the coming days so expect the unexpected.

Take a look around and tell me what you think, I’ve added a page called Imageboard which is, uh, an imageboard. I hope I can add support for comments there soon. As for “Mag” in the header, it’s not something that’s going to stay there for very long.

Well, I hope I haven’t crushed your heart or anything, and enjoy!^^

Edit: The imageboard has been taken, will be back up soon again.

Mhm nice, blocking IE would be the best solution anyway ^^
For some reason it even works on IE6 now though!

Haha, blocking all IE users wouldn’t be good for the stats :P Oh it works in IE6? Impressive.

Oops! I missed this post and commented on the new layout in the other post!

Hey, it looks good! I don’t know about how it looks in IE, since I’m on a Mac, but it looks fine in Safari. When I do use a PC it’s either Firefox or Chrome.

Anyhow, one of these days when I get a self-hosted “cool” site, I’ll pay for a good theme. ^_^

Thanks^^ The browser support for this theme is great! And yeah, getting a premium theme is often a good idea unless you’re able to design something awesome yourself :)

Haha, man, you keep on surprising your readers, huh?

I’ve known about Thesis for a while now, it really is a nice theme. So I have nothing bad to say, tho I would’ve loved to see you do your own theme but I guess this could be a bit too time-consuming.

I will never be satisfied if I design my own theme, everything has to be perfect^^ I’ve been designing and helping out other bloggers lately instead which is a lot of fun!

BTW, I haven’t seen you on MSN in aaaages, where are you? And are you working on ragunaru.com?

Don’t worry about changing the design every once in a while, I like to do it with my blog and I’ve seen people like the constant changes, it keeps them interested in both the content and the blog itself and it shows how much you care about the blog improvement, and that’s good.
By the way, the current theme is nice and clean.
