AKB48’s Official Shop in Harajuku

Last month AKB48 opened up it’s first official shop outside of it’s Akiharabara Theater shop. The shop is located on Harajuku’s Takeshita Street. It sells over 150 official goods including food, it is separated into 3 floors.

You currently can’t walk into the store off the street. Reservations are made on can be made here on AKB48’s Harajuku Shop website. This was introduced in fear of “over crowding the shop”. The shop is designed to look like a classroom with blackboards including personal messages left by members.

As many who have visited  Harajuku may know there’re lots of unoffical shops that sell photocards, posters, stickers, keychains, clocks, rulers and pens at a fairly cheap price. I haven’t been able to visit the store myself but I hope to in the near future.

Official AKB merchandise has been hard to come by as the store in their Akihabara Theater is very small and doesn’t sell much. SKE48 also have an Official Store in Shibuya that has been there for a while now. You can see it as your coming from Harajuku on the Yamanote Line!

In the Spring I visited what was the Hello! Project store in Harajuku and found this cosmetics store in it’s place :-(

That looks freaking amazing! By far the best looking idol store I’ve ever seen(^.^ )

I don’t see any blackboards though… Must be on another floor?
