BABYMETAL to release joint CD Debut “Ii ne!”

On March 7th, 2012, BABYMETAL will release their CD Debut “Ii ne!” along with Kiba of Akiba as a joint effort.

You may have seen BABYMETAL’s DOKI DOKI MORNING PV floating about the blogosphere. I posted it during my Weekly Music Spotlight Wk4: Sakura Gakuin – Sakura Gakuin 2010 ~message~ review and read about it’s popularity with various metal communities, I never expected a CD Debut.

BABYMETAL’s Long Awaited CD Release Has Been Decided!

The new song will be a split CD with Kiba of Akiba, a wota-ish Death Pop Band originating from Kyoto who hail the arrival of a new era.

Breaking through the boundaries of idols, and serving notice of their impending break past the boundaries of Japan with “Idol Metal Fusion” as their theme is the Metal Dance Unit “Baby Metal”, a combination of girls with an average age of 13.

Hailing from Kyoto, heralding a new era with their mixture of screamo and otaku culture in their own inimitable style, the Wota-ish Death Pop Band, Kiba of Akiba.

These groups who break the mould, they face the future with the same goal in mind,”To establish a new original genre”!? These companions who say “we won’t conform to a genre” will transcend all genres and cultures with the release of their “Transcendental” Split CD!

TOYFACTORY

BABYMETAL consists of Sakura Gakuin members: Mizuno Yui (YUIMETAL), Kikuchi Moa (MOAMETAL) and Nakamoto Suzuka (SUMETAL). If you haven’t heard DOKI DOKI MORNING, here’s the PV uploaded to TOYFACTORY‘s YouTube Channel.

Although metal music wouldn’t be something I’d listen to, BABYMETAL manage to turn it into something I enjoy and have been listening to frequently. Look forward to hearing more from BABYMETAL as the release date approaches.

Doki Doki Morning was my 2nd favourite song of last year.
I hadn’t heard anything like it! Coming from a metal background, before I got into the Idol scene, it ticked both boxes for me.
I am looking forward to their new single enormously, though it is not going to be as heavy as their first – being more like X-Japan style, according to a Sakura Gakuin blog post a while back.

I loved it the first time I heard it. It’d be awesome to see it live!

Sadly, they didn’t play it at the Sakura Gakuin concert I attended – even though it was on the release day for the DVD. (want to buy a DVD with Baby metal Towel? I got 2)

Haha how much? I’ll hopefully get to see Sakura Gakuin live a few times :-).

“On March 7th, 2012, BABYMETAL will unleash their most grim and unholy CD Debut, “Ii Ne!”, along with those kvlt practitioners of necro blasphemies, “Kiba of Akiba”, as an infernal split release with which to plague the earth.”

    Was a better intro line.

Definitely one of the more interesting idol groups recently, although music-wise I’d prefer a screaming dude to these tunes :P

Screaming dude? What could be better than this?! Seriously!
