First off, thank you all for your kind words about the new design! If this is the first time you’re here since the change, you can read a little about it here.
Well anyways, as you can see, this is my new camera tripod that I bought for my Lumix LX3! Actually I got it at the same time I got the Aragaki Yui mousepad, but I’ve been a little slow lately. I ordered this from a Swedish store for about $34, this is my first tripod so I really had no idea what to expect, but the price was good (I think?).
It’s pretty lightweight but the build is good, I have yet to use it outside though so I don’t know how well it works on uneven ground. Don’t think it’ll be a problem though, other reviews were very positive!
They could’ve used another font though, this one makes me cringe, might put a sticker over it.
Max height is 160 cm. I don’t know if that’s normal or not but that’s tall enough for me.
Water level, very useful! Should’ve wiped it off before taking this pic though^^;
Another water level. Can anyone explain what you use this for?
Do you carry a tripod with you when you’re just out and about taking photos of random things? I don’t think I’ll carry it with me too often, mainly for events and quite possibly a mini-studio for all the stuff I buy.

The first level is used for the cameras orientation, while the second level is to judge how level the tripod as a whole sits.
It looks like a nice one, hope you find it useful!
BTW – I really love the new design
Ah I see, thanks for clearing that up^^
And I’m glad you like the new design!
good tripod, I got a similar one that probably much cheaper. you can see it in the bag in this pic

looks like you are get even more serious about your photography
Well, the bag looks nice… I wouldn’t say serious though, I’m still a noob and it’s just for the fun of it!^^
Generally speaking I’m not too picky with tripods, I mean really as long as it holds the camera in place, whatever… I mean there were times when I forgot my tripod/s at home and had to pick up some cheap 10 dollar ones at some random store, and with those I managed to take photos just as good as with any other…
But I do admit to loving Manfrotto tripods – those things are absolutely excellent ^_^
That’s true, the durability of the 10 dollar tripods probably isn’t too good though, but I bet they do the job. The Manfrotto tripods look really nice!
Well, iduno about them not being durable :p I’ve had one of those 10 dollar tripods for like 5 years now and its been with me from here, to Las Vegas, to Florida, to Japan to Mexico… Still is jolly ^_^
Interesting, then there’s really no point in buying a more expensive tripod xD Though this was one of the cheapest I could find^^
Nice! My Velbon tripod doesn’t have the levels (they would be quite handy) but it works well. recently picked up a little gorrillapod too for the stuff on the go, my big one is just for events/planned projects.
Yeah, I think the levels are a necessity, not for all circumstances though. A gorillapod would be quite nice as well, those are pretty cheap so I’ll probably get one sooner or later too.
I am not quite sure what you need a tripod for, I mean except from taking a picture of yourself or a group picture with you in it, or taking pictures every few minutes of a landscape to make a movie out of it I can’t think at any other ways it could be useful. Most cameras have built in hand shake removing feature so why don’t just hold it with your own hands?
I know people who have one will say it is needed but please explain what for? It’s not handy to always carry it around is it?
Well, it’s very useful when you’re recording video. Also, those shake reduction features aren’t perfect, you’ll always get a better result if your camera isn’t shaking.
Wowzers that is a beast… I need to buy one but it will be nowhere near that big.. lol
