Ikebukuro

in Japan

Went to Ikebukuro in hopes of being able to stay there for a while, like you can stay in Shibuya and Akihabaraa whole day. But Ikebukuro is definitely not the same thing. I got the feeling that it’s more of the place to visit at night for drinking. They do have an OICITY though, with UNIQLO, GAP and whatnot.

A big square outside of the Ikebukuro station. I guess it would have another feeling to it if I went there on a weekend instead…

I went in to OICITY to check out a normal UNIQLO (the one in Harajuku is mostly for their t-shirts). The downside of living at an expensive hotel is that the laundry service is expensive as hell. It’s cheaper to go to UNIQLO and buy 3 nice fitting (but 1 colored) t-shirts than cleaning 2. Think I’m gonna have to look up some laundry place around here though.

Well, might go to Ikebukuro again but for beer with friends^^

If you want interesting shopping, try AmeYoko in Ueno! :)

I was just reading someone’s blog where they were talking about people living in tents, capsule hotels and manga cafes, so there has to be public laundromats there somewhere. Good luck finding one. The way you describe it I wouldn’t want to pay for their laundry service either.
