I just love chewing gums, and especially those from Japan, because of their vast variation of flavors. This one has the flavor of lime and yuzu!

As you can see from the plastic coating of the package above, it’s a liquid-in-gum. You could say I have a love hate relationship with liquid-in-gum… gums. [click to continue…]
Welcome to another message brought to you by Shiranwa. This time we have Don Quijote!

For those of you who don’t know about the Don Quijote store, it can be summarized in three words. HAS IT ALL. Honestly if you’re ever out in Japan and need something urgently then stop by Don Quijote as it’s open 24 hours. [click to continue…]
Many requests I put up on the JPCP page are pictures of various stores in Japan. I love shopping and I find stores in Japan particularly interesting. This time, I got Shiranwa to take some shots of the Apple Store in Shibuya for me.

Being a Mac and iPhone user (although I do not consider myself an Apple fanboy), the Apple stores in Japan are very much relative to my interests. [click to continue…]

In the third episode of Takashi’s Great Journey you get to see footage from his time in Hakodate, Hokkaido. This is the last stop in Hokkaido before continuing onto the mainland of Japan.

Takashi made a bunch of friends in Hakodate at Diamond ramp, a great skate park and shop. One of them, Atsushi Ikeda, even let him stay at his house for the night, so he didn’t have to sleep in his little sleeping bag again. [click to continue…]
What am I doing? I’m enjoying some Swedish beer imported from Germany while listening to some good Japanese hip-hop and looking at Gyaru Wednesday week 11.

Together with all that stuff I mentioned above, I’m having some Tengu Brand beef steak jerky chips imported from Japan! I love eating chips while drinking beer, but there are only a few flavors that really go well with it. This is one of those flavors that goes really well with beer. In fact, I’d have to say this is the tastiest “beer chips” I’ve ever had. [click to continue…]
These two said they were cosplaying Gakuen Angel. Either this is some major underground manga/anime or I must have heard wrong >.>; as I can’t find any info about them.

Their costumes were hand made and if you look close at the cheek of the girl on the left you can see two more eyeballs!… CREEPY! But they did a great job. If you look at the shoes in the second picture, you’ll notice she’s wearing GETA. [click to continue…]
Anyone remember the classic Jamie Kennedy Experiment? I loved that show, but this episode I must have missed! Jamie Kennedy plays Frank, the owner of a sushi restaurant. Frank thinks his staff loves him but that’s really only because he doesn’t speak Japanese. So Jamie set up this guy, Ichiro, who does speak Japanese to be the most uncomfortable guy in the room. Just imagine hearing someone say “let’s go do it in the back” to another man’s wife right in front of you.

You stand there holding your wife in your arms, but you have no idea she’s saying “he can’t even get it on” to the chefs in the restaurant, instead you think they’re planning some kind of surprise party for you. Just amazing xD Video after the break
Tired of heavy hangovers after a night out? Well, you’ve come to the right place my friend! Ukon no Chikara is here to save the day.

Ukon no Chikara, which literally translates to “The Power of Ukon” is a Japanese anti-hangover drink sold in convenience stores all over Japan. Ukon is a plant grown in Southeast Asia and is known as turmeric in English, it’s related to ginger and is common in Indian cuisine. [click to continue…]

Takashi’s great journey continues and this time he hits four locations, Shin-totsukawa, Sapporo, Otaru and Niseko. He finally finds some people to skate with and discovers Loaf lounge, a skate park and shop in Kucchan, Niseko.

This all reminds me of when I was a kid, I didn’t skate(board) but I did agressive inline skating and loved hanging in the park with my friends. I never was very good though, but I could do some basic grinding and go back and forth in the half-pipe :P [click to continue…]
Hi! A short introduction. My name is Shiranwa. I’ve lived in Japan for the past 7 years and thought I’d help Yonasu out with his little picture request. I hope you enjoy the pictures I’m able to provide. Leave comments so I can know what you want to see next!

Alright let me explain what’s going on here at Shibuya’s crossing. [click to continue…]
