Have you ever been to Koreatown in Tokyo? No? Well, I have!
Koreatown is located near Shin-Okubo station in Shinjuku, a ward that I don’t find myself in too often. I’ve only been to Koreatown once, but I truly enjoyed it. The food is amazing and the beer is cheap, and much like the Chinese equivalent in Yokohama, it’s nice to experience a slightly different culture even though you’re in the middle of Tokyo.
Although I haven’t explored the whole town, Koreatown seems to be all about the food, I didn’t spot a single souvenir shop, plenty of Korean idol shops however. Bring a few friends, find a good restaurant (it’s easy) and you’re bound to have a good time. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name of the restaurant we went to, but it’s on the opposite side of “PINK CAT’S” seen in the first picture above, so just keep an eye out for that.
