So I finally made my second order from miaou at their official site, miaoumusic.com. This time I ordered the painted e.p. (white one) and a grey “all around us” t-shirt. For those who don’t know miaou, they are a Japanese instrumental post-rock band, you can read more about them here.
This is my collection so far, well, there’s also a few stickers lying inside the cd cases and of course the new t-shirt which you can see below. The brown cd case at the bottom here is a freebie I got in my last order, it’s from their live show at shibuya o-nest in 2007.
One thing I just love about ordering from artist’s official websites, which you most of the time only do with indie artists is that they give you freebies like pins, stickers and stuff like that. They also always add a personal note, they obviously use a template and pretty much only insert your name but it feels nice (I take that back, I was wrong! It’s just this last one that looked a little like that, sorry ;) ).
If you’re into post-rock or good instrumental music in general, I definitely recommend miaou! I suggest you give both all around us and painted e.p. a try as they’ve changed their sound quite a lot in their new album, I love them both though.

I disagree on the note being a template though, they wrote something a little different on mine. Mayumi is quite fluent in English, as talking with her in emails has proven…
Cool! Hmm, well, it might not be a template but they seem to write pretty much the same thing on them. The last note I got was definitely not a template, maybe it’s just this one that looks a little template-ish. I’ve chatted with her a few times via mail too so I know that she’s good with English. I’ll take it back! ^^;

Talking about instrumental bands, have you hear of FLEET? I can’t find anything on them, but I love their song, Brand New Reason :X
I think I’ve heard of them but I’m not sure, I might be thinking of something else. Either way, I’ll have to give that song a listen^^
