abcdefg*recordJust want to share this video with everyone. This song is from naivepop or petitfool’s album “I Love NP” which I’ve posted about before, but I only posted a sample of the album back then. So here’s the full video of Sunday Morning!

If you like it you can get it on iTunes!

I’m actually thinking about ordering some new stuff from the abcdefg*record store soon, haven’t ordered anything from them in a while and I’m interested in getting a new hoodie. By the way, the CD and t-shirt I ordered from miaoumusic.com was shipped out today so hopefully I will get that this week!

POP 88How do you find new music nowadays? Sure there are various ways of doing it, I for example use Last.fm, Spotify and of course YouTube and sites like that. But one of my favorite ways of finding new music is by listening to podcasts, so now I want to share one of my favorite podcasts with you all. POP 88!

POP 88 is a podcast hosted by Christine Miguel from Toronto and she features all kinds of Korean and Japanese music in a great 35 minute mix. Besides the music, POP 88 also includes interviews and news, kind of like a regular radio show. I also think that Christine has a really good radio voice which of course is very important as well.

Do you like listening to podcasts or do you not like breaks with related talks when you’re listening to music? Either way, I think you should give POP 88 a try!

I just came across this really good music video by My Little Lover. The single is set to be released on the 4th of February.

This is the first time I hear her and I’m very impressed (why didn’t someone tell me about her?). I like her voice a lot, she has a unique sounds that is very appealing to my ears. What do you think?

ACO is a female singer from Aichi, Japan who definitely has a pretty unique style. Her music can be put in many genres, such as pop, downtempo, jazz and electronica. ACO started back in 1995 with a single, Fuan Nano, which was a success and was followed by a debut album the next year.

ACO irony

ACO reminds me a lot of Chara, who I wrote about two weeks ago. Although ACO doesn’t have that squeaky voice, she still reminds me of her, maybe it’s their videos more than the actual music.

I bought ACO’s best of album, ACO BEST ~girl’s Diary~, last year from YesAsia when I had only listened to a couple of songs, and I was very satisfied with my purchase. Do you ever buy CDs without listening to them first? I think it’s a fun thing to do every now and then, although I usually prefer to listen it through before I decide to buy it.

ACO BEST ~girl's Diary~

I think you should give her a try, I recommend the best of album, irony is also a good album which has some really relaxing ambient songs. Here’s ya-yo! for ya.

Chara

Another one of those just in case posts, this time it’s about Chara. Chara was my favorite artist back in summer 2007, I really listened to her all the time, especially her album UNION which still is her best in my opinion. Her real name is Satou Miwa, her nickname Chara (or ちゃら) was given by of her teachers. The nickname comes from the Japanese word “charachara” which means scatterbrained, or giddy in a cuter fashion (I don’t know her in real life but I bet that’s a very fitting nickname!).

Album cover of Chara’s latest album honey (2008).

The most incredible thing about Chara is definitely her voice, it’s sweet and whispery like a child’s but with power of an adult. She considers herself a musician at first rather than a singer, and she is skilled with instruments such as the piano, drums, acoustic and electric guitar etc.

And Skillster, regarding your last comment on Strawberry Machine’s new album:

Lol, her voice is well squeaky :)

I don’t know why, but I like these kind of voices, and Chara is probably the best in the field! How about you? Do you like this kind of voice? If so, who’s your favorite?

DEPAPEPE

DEPAPEPE is an acoustic guitar duo from Kobe, Japan. But if you didn’t know that already, you probably live under a big rock. The name “DEPAPEPE” comes from the guys’ nicknames, simply “Depa” and “Pepe”. These two guys are my all time favorite guitarists, and that’s why I think you should give them a listen!

They have lots of CDs, since they debuted back in 2002, so I suggest that you YouTube them or something. I can almost guarantee that if you’re downy, this will cheer you up.

NAGARE-BOSHI is this pop trio’s 9th single. This band is pretty well known among anime fans since they’ve made music for Chobits, ARIA the Animation, .hack//DUSK etc. NAGARE-BOSHI was used as the ending theme for the anime Yozakura Quartet.

The single was released about a week ago (October 22), but as I just got to know about it, I thought I should post it.

This might actually be my favorite song for the month, or at least in the top 3. I like this song very much!

Hinouchi Emi is releasing her 8th single, “Kataomoi”, on November 5. The single’s b-side is a cover of Remioromen’s song, “Konayuki”, which is my all-time favorite song by them.

Well, listen and enjoy!

Kataomoi by Hinouchi Emi

I definitely like the song a lot, but the b-side cover isn’t bad either, actually it’s very good in my opinion. The original is still better though.
