Nobuchika Eri 1st Mini-Album
Nobuchika Eri released her first mini-album “hands” a little while ago and I’ve finally given it a listen. I’m a big fan of her older stuff that was produced by Shinichi Osawa, especially songs like Lights, SING A SONG and I hear the music in my soul. In hands Eri has changed her sound quite a lot, this album is very mellow with a small mix of jazzy, electronic and acoustic tunes. It was not what I expected from her at all and from what I’ve heard from others, people are a little disappointed. It’s sad that she doesn’t use her strong voice at all in this mini-album, it makes her very mainstream-ish even though she still has a pretty unique voice.
2) きみなんだ (Kimi Nan Da)
3) タシカナモノ (Tashika na Mono)
4) calling you
5) せせらぎ (Seseragi)
6) つなぐみらい (Tsunagu Mirai)
8) DEEP BLUE
I think this mini-album has a few really good songs and a few that I probably won’t remember for long. My favorite tracks are STEP, Tashika na Mono and Kimi Nan Da.
I hope that she’ll make some more upbeat songs in the future but also that she keeps making stuff with the latin sounds of STEP and jazzy sounds of Kimi Nan Da.
You can listen to the songs on her official MySpace page.
