in Japan

OTAKUPHONEI came across this blog earlier today and it’s called OTAKUPHONE. This blog’s main purpose is to provide iPod Touch and iPhone users a great selection of wallpapers for otakus and everyone who just love Japanese idols and anime. Some of the content is rated as 18+ and I believe that you’re not able to access an 18+ free version at the moment. But you know, it’s not like you haven’t seen half naked 2D girls before, if you’ve read this far you’re probably familiar with Danny Choo’s site.

Either way, I love this blog because the idea of providing these kind of wallpapers is great, and even for people without an iPhone or iPod Touch it’s just as entertaining. And the design is worth an award in my opinion, I really fell in love with it at first sight.

The author, Ragnar, also use OTAKUPHONE as a normal blog, you can find his posts in the sidebar under “Updates and randoms”.

Of course you can also follow him and the blog on Twitter, @OTAKUPHONE.

Enjoy!

Whoa, dude, thanks A LOT for the kind words and for the new readers. Don’t know how can I repay you ^^;

Anyways – I saw you mentioned that 18+ is inaccessible? Is it? Wow, I mean it shouldn’t be at the moment. Though one of my original ideas actually were to not show any 18+ content to unregistered users. But it’s still kind of under development, I haven’t thought it through as how should I pull it off.’

Thanks again, honestly. And I’m really glad you like the design – I’m pretty much pleased with it myself. ^^

I’m just doing this because I want to, I don’t expect anything in return ^^

The 18+ is accessible, you probably missed the “free” in that sentence. I mean it would be nice to be able to decide whether to show the 18+ content or not as you say. I don’t really mind it but I bet there are people who would like to have access to a work safe version.

As for restricting content, this plugin might work: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-sentry/

Sorry for commenting so much but what plugin do you use for displaying rss feeds on sidebar, DC for example?

Commenting is not a bad thing :) I don’t use a plugin for that, I use the default widget that comes with WordPress 2.7.

Damn, I totally missed your point – reading it now makes perfect sense though, lol. But, yeah, that is the main reason why there should be the safe version, just like Sankaku has.

Oh, there is such a widget? For future reference – Ragnar, always go and see if the thing you’re looking for isn’t there already, before asking and making yourself look stupid!
