There’s a rumor going around that Stockholm Japan Expo 2009 might be cancelled because of a financial crisis. Whether or not this is true is hard to say at the moment but it looks like it could be. The source of the rumor comes from a LiveJournal entry which you can read here. Also pointing at this is the main website wich is down and the 3rd party ticket service says that they’re sold out, which either means that they’re actually sold out, that it’s canceled or that it’s down for technical reasons.
However, there’s still hope. Both the SJX blog and forum are still up and running, and as they’re running on the same domain it looks more like a crash or maintenance. Also New Nippon Productions who are in charge of the artists haven’t said anything about this and the information is still up on Buono’s site. Even if the expo is canceled there’s a small chance of us being able to see the concerts anyways, but that’s up to the New Nipponsters.
Let’s hope it’s not canceled though! I’ll keep you updated.

It was too good to be true :( Now I just need to choke myself to death with a pillow..
It has in fact been cancelled. I bought tickets a couple of weeks ago, and I just recieved this mail:
“Dear Customer,
Unfortunately we have to inform you that Stockholm Japan Expo 2009 is cancelled.
There are several reasons for this, the financial change in world economy, severe competition from other festivals/concerts as well as poor ticket sale.
This means you will get your ticket purchase back by http://www.ticnet.se. More info about this will be announced on our website (www.japanexpo.se) next week.
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused and hope that Stockholm Japan Expo will be feasible in the near future.
With sincere apologies,
SJX-Crew
