As most of you probably already know, the HMV store in Shibuya shut down on August 22. Luckily I managed to get Shiranwa to take some photos of this magnificent store before it shut down for good.

HMV Shibuya opened already in 1990, although it was moved to its current spot in 1998. It was the flagship of the HMV chain and was known as the store that helped Shibuya-kei music gain the widespread recognition it deserved. [click to continue…]
The rain only lasted for one day so on my third day in Japan I decided to go to Shibuya.

Started off at Hanzomon station, first time riding a Japanese train! Thanks to Dean I had an idea of how to buy and use tickets^^

It’s a bit complicated at first, but now that I’ve used the trains a few times it’s really easy.

These maps are great, always look at them so I know I’m going the right way^^ Just 4 stops from Hanzomon to Shibuya.

The yellow ones tell you where the exits are and what you’ll find outside of them.

And here it is, Shibuya! It’s kind of like getting a slap in your face, ’cause when you get up from the station you’re right in the middle of everything, definitely surprising on your first time. [click to continue…]
