A few days ago I got my package from White Rabbit Press, containing 2 boxes of Pocky originals, a calligraphy pen and a Casio XD-SW9400 electronic dictionary. This was my first time using White Rabbit Press and I have to say that I’m definitely satisfied with their service. I can’t say anything about how they handle returns and such, but seeing their return policy I bet it’s just as good as any other store.
So about the stuff I ordered. The Pocky originals are as good as always of course, the calligraphy pen is cool, but I haven’t really gotten used to it. However, we’re going to try calligraphy at the university next week before the winter break, so I bet I’ll learn something then.
Anyways, the real reason for this order was the electronic dictionary. It took me quite some time to decide which one to get, but as I found the Casio XD-SW9400 with 51% off from White Rabbit Press, it was an easy pick. I think it’s around 40-50% off Amazon.co.jp as well if that suits you better. As I’m not really a professional on electronic dictionaries, I can’t really give it a fair review, but I’ve already realized it’s usefulness in school. I still have lots to learn about it, but after a few days I’ve gotten to know the menus and the things I have to know to use it. As all the menus are in Japanese, you should at least have basic knowledge in the language. I’d recommend getting one when you’ve learned hiragana/katakana and have a decent vocabulary. I’m currently at the end of Genki I and Basic Kanji Book Vol.1, and I don’t think I would’ve used it much if I got it earlier.
Well, if you’re also going to get one, consider placing your order now, since the stores have good prices for the Christmas holidays. Take a look at White Rabbit Press’ products, they have lots of good books and other things that can help you with your studies. I’m thinking about getting their first set of Kanji flashcards and a book about mastering text messaging in Japanese, and more yummy Pocky’s.
