I’m tiny like a door mouse, short like a bungalow house, but I’m pretty big in Tokyo. — That right there would be part of the lyrics of the newly released song Tiny Japanese Girl by Savlonic. If you can get by the lousy lyrics of this song, the artwork is pretty cool! As for the song itself, well, can’t say I’m a huge fan, mainly because of the dude’s voice, but also since I’ve never really liked this classic electro (ish) style.
I don’t know about you, but if I were to add a poll again like I did in the Beckii Cruel post, I’d give this a thumbs down. I wonder if short Japanese girls feel offended… [click to continue…]
I was eventually going to have to mention Beckii Cruel, so here’s me getting it over with, or am I?
Honestly I didn’t even bother with giving her a chance when I first heard about her, but for some reason I decided to just give DANJO a listen to see what she’s like. I was a bit weirded out on the first listen, but then I started looping it since I found the “danjo danjo jo jo dan jo dan dan jo” parts really catchy. There’s no excuse for her incredibly bad Japanese, but I do find it pretty cute^^ Hopefully she’ll get better though, since I prefer my idols speaking good Japanese at least outside of the recording studio.
I’ve been a little busy the past two days because of the purchase of a new computer, which I’ll post about tomorrow! So in the meantime, I’d like to give you a few minutes of pleasure for your ears.
This is the PV of chaqq’s GOOD DAY! from their album Pleasure which is set to be released on April 21.
The international fans of Morning Musume are getting more and more focus from their agency with the recent international concert(s). But Thursday, August 20 is a day to remember. Because today on Crunchyroll at 12 PM PDT, an exclusive interview with the group was published, including English subs of course. [click to continue…]
I usually don’t watch PVs more than a few times, but these two are videos that I’ve watched countless of times. The first one is a remake by Tsunku♂ and the second one is the original by Nagabuchi Tsuyoshi. Tsunku’s is good, but the original is my favorite, it’s so powerful and he’s quite hilarious in general, I bet he’ll at least make you smile if this is the first time you’re watching it^^
Monday Michiru is releasing her new album, “NEXUS”, on November 26. And here’s the PV for “Sands Of Time”, which is on the album. I like it a lot, it’s more upbeat than what her music usually sounds like. She’s said herself that this is one of her most powerful albums, so I’m looking forward to it. Her sound in this song really reminds me of Jazztronik (which is featured on the album) and JAFROSAX.
Perfume is releasing their 8th major label single, “Dream Fighter”, on November 19, and here’s the A-side’s PV! It’s good, but it’s not as good as their previous single, “love the world“, in my opinion. To be honest, the PV is pretty boring, they could’ve done better there.
But I’m not gonna complain too much, the song is very good, but the Perfume PVs are usually something to really look forward to.
What do you think? Does it meet the high standard of Perfume?
NAGARE-BOSHI is this pop trio’s 9th single. This band is pretty well known among anime fans since they’ve made music for Chobits, ARIA the Animation, .hack//DUSK etc. NAGARE-BOSHI was used as the ending theme for the anime Yozakura Quartet.
The single was released about a week ago (October 22), but as I just got to know about it, I thought I should post it.
This might actually be my favorite song for the month, or at least in the top 3. I like this song very much!
alan is releasing her 7th Japanese single, “Megumi no Ame”, next month (November 12). This is the last single in her elements set, representing water in the Japanese Godai and the Tibetan Bön.
I love this song sooo much, but it doesn’t quite beat “Ashita e no Sanka”, but I’d say it’s my second favorite. I like ballads, but alan’s not just one of those regular singers, alan brings back the beauty of traditional instruments in a way that no one has done before (or do you dare to prove me wrong?).
Hinouchi Emi is releasing her 8th single, “Kataomoi”, on November 5. The single’s b-side is a cover of Remioromen’s song, “Konayuki”, which is my all-time favorite song by them.
Well, listen and enjoy!
I definitely like the song a lot, but the b-side cover isn’t bad either, actually it’s very good in my opinion. The original is still better though.
