We’ve been seeing more and more official Japanese channels popping up on YouTube lately, and this time it’s Up-Front that has realized what they’ve been missing out on. At the time I’m writing this, there are 11 videos in the channel (first 2 videos were uploaded about 3 weeks ago) including Morning Musume, HANGRY & ANGRY, Berryz Koubou and other UFA artists. The videos are all new, but hopefully we’ll see them uploading older stuff as well.
Now we finally don’t have to rely on Dohhh-Up‘s rather poor streaming service. On the other hand, we just have to hope that they don’t start putting too much effort on removing user-uploaded videos, at least not until they start uploading the videos themselves!
The quality of the videos is great, and it’s great that they haven’t disabled video embedding! Ratings and comments have been disabled for some reason though. And considering the fact that they’re branching out like this, it’s not impossible that we’ll see official subtitles as well. I’m sure that would not happen anytime soon though.

1.What was the first Japanese song that you ever listened to?
I think it was a trance remix of Hamasaki Ayumi’s Fly High. I bet there was a song before that one too, but I probably didn’t know what I was listening to at that time.
2. Did it inspire you to like that group/singer, or did it turn you away?
I was excited! Even though I was a big fan of manga at the time, I had no idea I would start listening to Japanese music.
3. What is the one song that you have been listening to for the longest time?
Gosh that’s a hard question… Maybe Suzuki Airi’s live singing of FIRST KISS from C-ute’s concert in 2007.
4. What group/singer have you liked the longest?
ELLEGARDEN, miaou and Hamasaki Ayumi (although I rarely listen to her nowadays).
5. What is the song with the most plays on your itunes/media player?
If I don’t count the songs that I always fall asleep to it would be pasteboard – cacao.

Top 5 at least.

I don’t really have just one favorite.

Leo Imai, pasteboard, Buono!, ELLEGARDEN, Aragaki Yui and Monkey Majik.

UP-FRONT I guess, but I don’t really care a lot about agencies.

Do I really have to choose just one? Well, I’ll go with Leo Imai then.
Who’s the world’s cutest girl? Is there a better judge than Google itself? Don’t think so.
