The Best Guide to Roppongi

March 16, 2010 · 9 comments

in Japan

When I was in Japan earlier this year, I made a few visits to Roppongi to get my groove on and whatnot.

One Thursday night I went to GP Bar with a few friends, since everything’s 300 yen on Thursdays. GP Bar gets really smoky though and as I’m not a smoker, I had to go out a few times for some fresh air. While I was outside I was talking to the security guard (cool Japanese guy who knew kung fu) he handed me this huge map of Roppongi that covers pretty much every bar, club and restaurant there. We also talked about the middle-aged business men coming out of the hostess club right next to GP Bar, but that’s another story.

The map is very detailed with numbers all over the place that you can look up on the back of the map, there’s a place for everyone here.

Like this Scandinavian restaurant, I never went there but I will probably go there next time to see what Swedish food tastes like in Japan^^

It also includes the essential Japanese in Roppongi! Can I buy you a drink?

And in case you get into some deep shit, you can look up the number to your embassy.

If you’re just looking for the booze and other stuff you might need, Don Quixote should do the trick (which is located right next to GP Bar).

So if you ever find yourself in Roppongi, let me lead the way!

Yeah, it’s a great map! I don’t think you can find it online, but if you ever find yourself in Roppongi you could take a look. They only had like four of them when I was there.

I think you forgot to remove your Extacy pills from the picture. What if your family sees this? :(

Neat! But you can’t see how to say “Can I buy you a drink?” because of the wrinkle. Boo!

I’m going to Roppongi soon; I hope I find one of these.
