The Kashiwado chair

Published on April 1st, 2012.

The Kashiwado chair is a design masterpiece of the 60′s made by none other than designer Isamu Kenmochi. It was specifically designed for a famous sumo wrestler named Kashiwado, and if you want this custom made wooden chair, you have to cough up at least $10,000 for it. I can’t even imagine what the shipping cost for this thing would be though. The chair is made of carved, layered cedar blocks with a polished cedar frame.

I think the design is just stunning, beautiful solid wood. Doesn’t it just scream quality? I’m not sure how comfortable it is though, but I’d be happy just looking at it.
