This Week’s Free Japanese Single

I don’t know if this is a Japan iTunes Store thing exclusively or if it’s also available in the other stores, either way, on the Japanese iTunes Store they have a weekly single that you can download for free.

Last week’s single was Rootsong (feat. MONO M.i.c) [Rap Version] by MONKEY sequence 19 and the week before that it was Kanpeki Na Ichinichi by Arupachikabuto. Both hip-hop songs. And this week’s free single is Lucy by EMPTY, a jazzy rock song.

You can only download it for free during the week it’s featured, when the single is replaced with a new, the old one goes back to costing either 150 yen or 200 yen. Anyways, if you have a Japanese iTunes Store account I strongly recommend giving them a try, they’re free after all. I’ve actually liked all of the 3 latest singles ;)

If you find it hard to navigate (it’s in Japanese after all), you’ll always find it in the section seen in the picture below.

The image has 今週のシングル (konshuu no shinguru; this week’s single) and 無料 (muryou; free) on it. When you click on it, it’ll look something like what you see in the picture below. The button within the green circle that says 無料 is where you click to download the song!

So if you don’t yet have an account on the Japanese iTunes Store, maybe this is reason enough to create one!^^

You have to use the workaround, and you can only use pre-paid cards if you don’t have a Japanese credit card. Follow these instructions How to get a Japanese iTunes Account — Austrian Otaku
