I’ve previously done translations of idol blogs, but seeing as they are often pretty boring to read I’ve decided to translate something that I find more interesting instead. Leo Imai is one of my favorite Japanese artists and I enjoy reading his blog. I don’t promise 100% correct translations seeing as my Japanese is very limited, but hopefully they’re better than using Google Translate^^
For those who aren’t familiar with Leo Imai, here’s some fast facts.
- Father Japanese. Mother Swedish. Born in Tokyo. Raised in London.
- Made indies debut in Japan with album ‘City Folk’ in 2006. Played Summer Sonic Festival in 2007.
- Made major debut through EMI Music Japan in Nov of same year.
- Released major debut album ‘Fix Neon’ in Feb 2008.
- Released second album ‘Laser Rain’ in April 2009.
- Has collaborated with artists such as James Iha, Zazen Boys, Kenji ‘Jammer’ Suzuki, and K.U.D.O.

Gakky released her new single about a week ago and this is the PV! I just love her voice, I wish she could sit beside my bed and sing me a lullaby sometime :D I’m aware of the fact that many of you don’t like her singing, at least that’s what I’ve heard on Twitter, but how do you like this song? Feel free to sing along, lyrics under the video! Oh and I almost forgot, the girl sitting in the boat with Gakky is Kawashima Umika for those who didn’t know.
I can’t promise you that the translations are accurate, but they should at least give you an idea of what she’s singing :) This is just me practicing so if you find errors feel free to correct them! [click to continue…]
KAT-TUN

Pic from yesteday.
I went to KAT-TUN’s live performance at Tokyo Dome with my manager! ヾ(´▽`)ノ
I was invited by Kamenashi-san!♪♪
“iya iya~”
TOKYO DOME!!!
It was epic!!☆
“人人人人人人人人人…(゜д゜≡゜д゜)”
It was crooooooowded! There were people everywhere! (interesting way of describing it :P)
We had standing tickets but it was fine since the Tokyo Dome is huuuge (laugh)
People were rushing in like crazy!! (●。●;) (as expected!)
Both the setup and the production were amazing!!
I enjoyed the show till the very end ξ`∀´ξ
Oh and my manager tried to buy a Kamenashi fan, but it was sold out! (Not an actual fanboy/girl of course, they often sell these for you to wave around)

She ended the post with something I’ve never heard before, “おそるべし” (osorobeshi). Anyone knows what it means?^^
The Japanese do indeed have a pretty unique way of blogging, well not all of them but usually among idols and celebrities. The writing is very… impulsive so to speak. They also tend to be very jumpy and that makes it a little weird when reading it in English, but hey, it’s better than not understanding any of it!
Early Morning

Work’s done~~!
The photo shoot was in the hotel so when I finished I jumped right into bed (゜Д゜)

I’ve only seen Ricchan in Kami no Shizuku but she has a really nice blog, maybe I should make translations for her’s too!

Migimaru over at Tokyograph has translated Livedoor’s two-part interview with Yurika Ohyama and Erika Toda. The two have been working together in 2 of the 3 latest Yurika singles, Sayonara and Haruiro. I had fun reading the interview, I’m a fan of Erika but I haven’t heard anything from Yurika until today. But I must say that I really like these 2 songs so I’ll be looking into her songs from now on. Of course I have no complaints on Erika, solid acting, she’s just perfect.
Don’t forget to check out the image gallery from the interview for some Erika goodness!
