Ueto Aya and Matsushita Nao to co-host Japan Record AwardsThe annual Japan Record Awards is coming up on December 30, and to help our old man Sakai Masaaki who has been the main host on the show for the last 16 years, is Ueto Aya and Matsushita Nao. While Ueto said that it was an honor to co-host the awards on the 50th anniversary, Matsushita excitedly said that she’s been watching the show since she was a kid and that she’s already nervous.

The show will last for over 4.5 hours so the young co-hosts will be of great help for Sakai, he said himself.

I think Ueto Aya will get to do more stuff like this in the future, she’s still very popular and reaching that age when hosting big shows like this are more likely to become a reality. Matsushita Nao who’s also 23 years old will most likely also be seen more and more on big events.

The show is set to air on TBS starting 6:30 PM on December 30.
