Watashi ga Renai Dekinai RiyuuPublished on January 15th, 2012.
More than half of women in their 20′s to 30′s admit to “currently lacking a boyfriend.” Men, love, sex, work, marriage… All the issues women face today are revealed in truth through this generation, an “ice age of love.”
Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu is a Japanese drama about three perfectly normal girls, Fujii Emi (Karina), Ogura Saki (Yoshitaka Yuriko) and Hanazawa Mako (Oshima Yuko), who share a rather big problem, they either can’t find someone to love, or they can’t do it very well. After a reunion party with their university friends, they realize how lonely they really are and decide to move in together in order to put things straight more easily.
Perhaps it’s a love story like any other, but I guess that’s what makes it good. The cast is very interesting too, with Yoshitaka Yuriko being one of my favorite actresses, Oshima Yuko who’s my favorite member of AKB48 (and quite possibly the only proper actress they have), and Karina who time after time adds this sort of great balance that makes her dramas really easy and “comfortable” to watch.
I haven’t been watching dramas recently but now I realize how nice it feels to come home after work and watch an episode of this drama, unfortunately I can only do it 11 times. I find it to be very easy to isolate myself from other things when watching this, without really knowing what makes it so captivating. And with that said, I’d like to recommend it to you!
If you’ve seen this drama, let me know what you think. And if not, what other dramas have you watched recently that you like?
