In the third episode of Takashi’s Great Journey you get to see footage from his time in Hakodate, Hokkaido. This is the last stop in Hokkaido before continuing onto the mainland of Japan.
Takashi made a bunch of friends in Hakodate at Diamond ramp, a great skate park and shop. One of them, Atsushi Ikeda, even let him stay at his house for the night, so he didn’t have to sleep in his little sleeping bag again. [click to continue…]

Takashi’s great journey continues and this time he hits four locations, Shin-totsukawa, Sapporo, Otaru and Niseko. He finally finds some people to skate with and discovers Loaf lounge, a skate park and shop in Kucchan, Niseko.
This all reminds me of when I was a kid, I didn’t skate(board) but I did agressive inline skating and loved hanging in the park with my friends. I never was very good though, but I could do some basic grinding and go back and forth in the half-pipe :P [click to continue…]

Takashi’s great journey through Japan on his skateboard has just started. The starting point is in Cape Souya and from there he skated down to Teshio, Shosanbetsu and finally Haboro, he skated 100 kilometers in one day!
On his way up he got to know this incredibly kind old man (ojii-chan) who’s also traveling Hokkaido. He offered Takashi a ride to Cape Souya, Takeshi’s starting point. The ojii-chan even cried when they said good bye! On his way, Takashi also met bikers and other people who cheered for him which really helped him continue. [click to continue…]

Meet Takashi, a skateboarder from Osaka, Japan. On the 9th of July he decided to go on his Japan tour that he had been talking about for a long time, only by using his skateboard.
In these two intro episodes, Takashi shows what he’s bringing with him on his trip, such as the bell he got from his mother that is supposed to keep bears away, a horn and a reflector so he doesn’t get run down by trucks at night. Now that’s what I’d call a nice mother^^ [click to continue…]
