in Japan

Yesterday night on Twitter, I tweeted out a question asking people what I should do first in Tokyo (after checking in at the hotel and whatnot). I got a few suggestions but I’d love to get a few more!^^

I kind of want to scream “Kitaaaa!!” like @ayumiin suggests but I don’t think I dare lol. Well, these all very good suggestions but I can’t choose! So please come up with something or vote for one of these^^

Just come and dance around Hachiko.

You can also give me a shout, as I am in the area. ;)

So I’ll dance around Hachiko and shout your name and you’ll find me?^^

Ooh, I like that idea :D Gotta hang around in Harajuku and Shibuya for that to happen. Well, since I’m going to be packing light I’m going to buy a lot of clothes so who knows, it might happen!

7. Stock up on the cheap manga while you can

I like number 4! And I’m already meeting up with a couple of Swedes so I don’t have to look for them^^

Go to a maiden caffe, and chose the menu where they feed you with mango puding.

Get some Japanese food. Some sushi or sashimi, or maybe even some tempura.

Then do some karaoke.

Then just spend several days walking around the city.

Try and meet Fiona Graham the australian researcher who works as a geisha in Tokyos Asakusa districts. She organises dinners where guests can be entertained by geisha.

Check out a shower room at Narita airport. For a small fee you get this little room for yourself with access to a shower and towels and mirror etc. Don’t know if you’ll need it though.. but I was sweaty as hell back in July… because of July. :) first thing I did.

I will be arriving at Haneda though :) But I don’t think I will need it, won’t sweat a lot since it’ll be in January, and I’m going straight to the hotel so I’ll shower there. But thanks!

Have to agree with the first couple of comments, Shibuya.
Make your way to Shibuya and go to the Hachiko exit, step outside to have a look and feel of Shibuya Crossing. It’s especially impressive after dark whith it’s neon lights and big displays.

First thing I would do is head over to Zozoji temple. It is located close to Tokyo tower…toss in a few coins and thank dear old Kami-sama for the adventure you are about to begin. When you see the beauty of the old Japan in this massive temple in the heart of Tokyo, I believe it will help you to appreciate where you have journeyed to…you will remember this place long after you are inundated by the distractions of modern Tokyo….then go find your new wife!
