Wonderland by Yeondoo Jung

Kids have the ability of being creative without even knowing it themselves, just looking at my old paintings I made in pre-school makes me wonder what I had in mind when I made such clever paintings. ‘Free your mind’ is what comes to my mind when I look at children’s paintings, because I think that is what they do themselves, doing that as an adult requires so much more. The sad part about children’s paintings is that the only ones who actually sees them are their parents and teachers.

Children’s paintings are not always true to reality, this fact is the interesting part in artist Yeondoo Jung’s collection of children’s paintings turned into reality. Yeondoo Jung collected 1,000 paintings made by 5-7 year olds, a few of those were selected and turned into reality in a photo shoot called ‘Wonderland’.

I think children’s paintings and drawings are very interesting, but I think most people just throw them away or put them in a storage room where it won’t be found anytime soon. This is pretty sad when something like this can be made out of them, don’t ya think?

Its true kids are more creative since they aren’t taught rules and concepts they just draw what they want and feel like drawing.
