Yonasu’s 80′s J-POP Selections

in J-pop,Music

I’m crazy in love with old (70′s-90′s) Japanese music, actually not just Japanese music, I find myself listening to some good old Earth, Wind & Fire and Minnie Riperton songs now and then as well. I think it all started because of Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!! and other Downtown shows where they tend to use older songs for background music.

Anyways, here’s a selection of 80′s J-Pop songs that I like!

Koizumi Kyoko – Adesugata Namida Musume

Off Course – Yes-No

Yoshizawa Akie – Naze? no Arashi

Toshihiko Tahara – Aishuu DATE ~NEW YORK CITY NIGHTS~

Junko Yagami – PURPLE TOWN

Akira Terao – Ruby no Yubiwa

Naoko Kawai – SMILE FOR ME

Imokin Trio – HIGH SCHOOL LULLABY

Yoshi Ikuzo – Ora Tokyo sa Iguda

Kuwana Masahiro – SEXUAL VIOLET No.1

Now it’s your turn to share some good J-pop 80′s! ;)

This is all amazing shizz, thanks for posting! I just found your blog but I’m in love with Japan and hope to go back someday (went on holiday 3 years ago). 70s and 80s J-pop are totally my thing too, I like older music in general, but the J-pop thing all started with Pink Lady for me :) I only know about three of the songs already though, (Imokin, Sexual VIolet I have, Aishuu Date seems weirdly familiar too but the rest are nice surprises (well, apart from Yoshi, that’s terrible!) Anyways, thanks!

Hi! I love old music too, so I’m really happy to try out these recommendations! :D

Actually, the reason why I got into idol music in the first place is because their music sounds a bit dated, and that reminds me of my childhood XD

Anyhow, the only one I actually knew form the top of my head was Naze no Arashi. Was that girl a NyanNyan? Because I’m sure I have that song in one of my Onyanko Club compilations O_O I even translated the lyrics! That song is intense!

Cool! Yes, I’m pretty sure Yoshizawa was a NyanNyan. My favorite song by Onyanko Club has to be Sailor Fuku wo Nugasanaide^^

That’s because you’re a pervert yonasu! :P
(It’s my fave too though so, I shouldn’t talk I suppose!)
